I have always been a little different in more ways that one! I have never been one to follow the crowd and I never quite fitted in with the norm. I’d rather be “me” 🙂
I have also been hypermobile (double jointed) all my life. As a child, you tend to do “tricks” and bend in ways that others can’t. All fun and games at the time!
Now, in my Crone years, I find that all my joints and muscles etc HURT.
Many, many doctor and specialist visits later, I have been diagnosed with hypermobile Elhers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS). Not the best news but looking on the positive side I can now officially say I’m a PoTS HEDS!!
All joking aside it means that I have to be careful what I do, I run out of energy quickly and find “everyday activities” really difficult and painful. Driving my car being one such activity.
So I now have a new (new to me) automatic car. It is absolute bliss to drive. So easy compared to my previous manual car. It has made me so happy. (I know, I’m easily pleased!)
Now I don’t know about anyone else but I always name my cars. My last manual car was called “Winnie”. Winnie (the Witch) was the perfect name for her! It took me ages to find a name I liked for my new car. She is a sapphire blue Ford Focus. I went through loads of names linked to the colour and loads beginning F (as she is a Focus) and eventually found a name that means “bliss”, “happiness,” “good fortune,” or “good luck”. This name is also linked to my family as they used to have a blue boat with the same name. So I have named my car “Felicity”.
I can’t be the only one who names my cars, can I?
